Minarets and two ways the Kyrgyzstanis dress.

Blanca very concerned about feeding the animals. She’s gather all the leftover meat from our meals, carry it in a Tuppperware and feed it to the strays.

Little did we know Linda in yellow would be ambulanced to a hospital with possible appendicitis and then sick the rest of the trip,

Lost my sunglasses on Day 2 at the river. So, so glad to find a $6 pair in this strip mall.

This is an instrument played in this country.

Since we had separate rooms, we each got two bus seats to ourselves. It was very nice, as the bus rides were long.

countryside.

More scenery. Such a variety.

Flowers and hollyhocks.

Felt-making demonstration. They use sheep wool and beat it to clean it, then add boiling hot water to shrink it and then press it into sheets of felt. There was some hand-work, but much of the stuff we saw in shops were factory made.

This cat kept heading to poor Tom, who’s allergic to cats.

They poured the dirt/construction materials on to the screen over the wheel barrow and shook it until they got pure sand. So much physical labor!

Kryg is 80% mountains. No thank you.

CLICK.

The animals we see, horses, sheep, goats, cows, yaks, are all for eating and owned by someone.

Yes! This was a bathroom that I squatted and peed on. ugh! Liz actually went BEHIND here to pee in Nature.

Son Kul Lake and the yurts we stayed in.

It was the coldest (and windiest) time of this trip — in the 40’s. Luckily we had a wood burning stove in the yurt and lots of charcoal to burn.

The lake was only 21 feet deep so there were no boats on this lake. And the water was cold because it was fed by a melting glacier.

The bathrooms were lovely — but outside (no toilets in tthe yurts). I took a shower in a warm functional shower and you can see my puffy coat I had to take off to get into the shower. It was unfortunate I did not bring soap, since none was provided.

Spooky going to the bathroom at night.

My yurt was quite cozy and warm. Too bad I had altitude sickness with headache and leg cramps so I drank many bottles of water with electrolytes, prompting two trips to the bathroom that night — outside. I refused to use that ‘sink’ in the yurt. Water tank above and it just drained into a bucket under the sink. UGH!

It WAS cool to see the moon on one of my bathroom runs.

A dog was barking at one of the horses who insisted in putting their leg across the rock barricade and into our pasture. As I watched the dog control the horse for some time, finally the dog turned to me and started coming at me! So I left. The dog was saying “Lady! I’m holding back the horse for you! Get moving!!”

This was the worst that happened with out outdoor bathroom. I could handle it.

It was a pleasure to use this warm “outhouse”.

The second trip to the bathroom and this time it was a cow; not 3 horses.
