Norway (3)

These northern lights photos were very underwhelming for me. You could not see any of this with the naked eye. I don’t know how it happened but once you picked up your camera and took a picture of it, all this green showed up. Thankfully the Northern Lights were not on my bucket list and what I did see was pretty spectacular. And I wasn’t disappointed.

CLICK.

Tiny cabin. Notice the 12-in I had at the bottom of the bed to get to my side. Ridiculous.

Note the time it was 11:45 pm and we were heading out to a bar. I guess you get off the ship when it gets to a port — no matter what time it is.

We missed the deadline for ordering a drink at this famous bar but our walk was beautiful.

Hard Rock and 7-Eleven everywhere in the world.

Love the snow on this statue.

So many trolls in Norway. And this bookstore is designed to look like the mouth of a whale.

Sandy I took this picture thinking of you.

We found two women on the cruise that were more obsessed with playing cards than Jane and I were. Good times were had by all.

A Nisse was a little troll who hides in your house and completes household chores for you. They say you should write it a letter and leave it a chocolate so that it doesn’t leave your house. The chocolate is always gone. You should only worry about the chocolate being gone if you live alone…

This was my Christmas manicure. My manicurist gave me the gift of the Christmas trees. Very talented and does it by hand. Impressive!

We took a cave mine tour. Got off the ship at Kristiansund and got back on the ship at the next town of Molde.

This was a marble mine run by three or four generations.

I see these two pictures are in the wrong place and it’ll probably be on the next blog.

This is a gas and oil factory. Norway was poor until they discovered the amounts of oil under ground and now they are one of the happiest people in the world since the government splits up their oil and gas earnings and gives it to the people.

All the woodwork sticking on the side of the mountain are to help stop Avalanches from ruining the city.

I always light a candle in honor of my grandma Gann who lit hers every Saturday.

Yes, it was cold; but I really wasn’t.

I didn’t know this but Jane explained that Ole and Lena Olson are mythical people from Minnesota who have a lot of jokes about them. Jane was thrilled to see this headstone and had to get a picture.

Cool mural.
