Two girls were in their swimsuits standing on the edge when one jumped in and disappeared. We were waiting sometime, and then I saw her come out of the doorway. So she must have jumped in, swam to the back, and climbed up. It’s common in Norway to jump in the ice cold water and then into a sauna. I think it would be a cause for heart attacks.

Everyone in the US has heard of Leif Ericson who discovered America. They pronounce it “Laif”.

Another beautiful sunrise.

We learned all about the birds of Norway. Really wanted to see a puffin but they don’t come around until April. Luckily, Joy and I saw hundreds of them in Iceland.

We also saw the whales of Norway. I’m listening to a book about food, written by Stanley Tucci. He mentioned he was very happy with the food he got in Iceland, one of which was Minke whale. However I don’t think it is allowed anymore. I do remember being offered whale meat at the shop in Trondheim, however.

This proves you can get used to anything. Cabin became our cozy little Hideaway and by the end it didn’t seem that small.

We got off the ship at Kristiansund back on at Molde in order to go through the marble mine cave.

We took a bus from Kristiansund in order to go through the marble mine cave in Molde. Our tour guide stopped the bus and told us we could walk out onto the bridge for pictures but be very careful it was slippery. Since it was pitch dark we asked what we were going to see on the bridge and she replied “well, Darkness.” And be very careful it’s slippery. We all looked at each other strangely and we all decided not to go out. We told this to the tour guide and said we could just leave and she said no we can’t get to the mine too early. So we just sat in the dark in the bus. Patrice started telling jokes and we all pitched in. When that was over, Patrice started singing Christmas songs. It was at that point the driver started the bus and we all left for the mines. It was bizarre.

The boat was a wooden pontoon like thing and the tour was interesting. When we passed the marble statue the third time I realized we were just going in circles in a small area.
CLICK.
Artsy picture of the shadow of us in the little boat against the wall.

We had soup and bread in a huge room that had been mined.

During our tour we got off the boat in a little area with the chandelier and drank from a tiny hose which was water dripping from the mine. They claimed it would take 10 years off your age. I was just afraid of getting an amoeba.

They originally mined the marble to make glossy paper for stationary companies. But once smartphones eliminated the use of paper, they were smart enough to pivot and the marble was used for parts to make smartphones.
Our tour guide and bus driver took us to the port at molde and had us get off the bus in the dark and pointed to a hotel in the event we needed to go to the bathroom and they drove off. We were left stranded at the port. Thank goodness the ship runs on time and it wasn’t longer than 5 minutes before we were able to get on board.

Got in the sauna on the last night one more time.
