New Zealand (8)

We had a great place this night. During this trip we spent SIX NIGHTS in a row in a new hotel room. I kept asking ‘Who planned this trip??” But it was mostly Liz and I. We tried to cram as much in 14 days as we could. I guess that meant being continually on the move. We would have liked to stay in this place a couple days.

We had a back yard and a pool and hot tub behind that wall.

Too funny. Notice the entire dryer is upside down. Not that I haven’t done stuff like this as a slumlord. The only reason I can think of is that the cord wasn’t long enough if it was stalled upright. And why did it have to be attached to the wall in the first place? … Other than a theft deterrent.

This was a tribute to breast cancer awareness. And women who hang their bras come back after treatment and sign the bras that they left behind. It’s called Bradrona because the neighboring town is called Cardrona.

This is the oldest restaurant in the country. Very cool place.

I love a babbling brook.

Still getting along and having fun!

More sheep and cows.

Low clouds. There’s a conspiracy theory that ‘they’ are controlling NZ weather and that’s why there’s always fog in the morning. I have not penetrated that theory.

we drove right through a mountain for a mile.

On the way through Haast pass to Wanaka.

We stayed on a boat in Milford Sound for an evening. So fun!

This is the boat.

It had a dining room and bar. This is where we played cards after dinner.

This is Lesa.

Beautiful fiords, waters and mountains.

kayaking with friends on a fiord in New Zealand. What could be better than that?

This is Jane, before, during and (splash) after. It was icy cold; so I used being the photographer as an excuse.

There goes Janice.

Too Funny, it looks like the girl in red is standing on the water!!

Leaping Liz.

I feel bad about Lesa. It looked like I missed her leap into the water. So I made her jump again!! Did I mention is was breath-takingly cold. Turns out I got BOTH shots.

Teaching canasta.

The full moon didn’t come out until 5:30 AM and I was fast asleep. Thanks, insomniac Liz, for the photo.

A chilly morning.

On the look out for dolphin and seals.

Dolphin. …..wait for it. Click.

More dolphins.

I must have an app on my camera to avoid the bounce, bounce, bounce because the shot was steady as a rock.

Here’s some fancy photo work. Constance really didn’t drive like this.
