WISTERIA!! Even up in the trees!

We bussed to Nara. We sat on the bus in a long line to get to the Todai-ji Temple, home of the great buddha. But we had a front row seat to watch the aggressive deer butt, nudge, and beg for more “deer cookies”. It was hilarious. Some women RAN from them; of course the deer followed and terrified the women. When it was time, Joy handled them pretty well.

The deer were everywhere.

The lanterns were wonderful. And the lit ones inside a temple were beautiful.

Note the deer and the wisteria. So pretty.

Look at this 300 (600?) year old tree! They built a building around it.

More wisteria. Under this pergola are the vines from which it is growing. Wow!

The temple reminds me of the ones in Vietnam. Huge!!

The size really is amazing.

Again, the superstition is to rub the part that hurts, for relief You bet I did. Maybe it worked, maybe not.
This deer wanted some of my ice cream cone but I was having none of it.

They are so proud if their matcha flavor.
Entertainment at our final dinner.

In case your interested, our farewell dinner.
