Brazil, Iguassu Falls, and Argentina (2)

The money of Brazil is the Real and the plural of that is Reais. Calculation is pretty simple — you just divide five and you get pretty close. 100 Real is $20 USD.

The language of Brazil is Portuguese.

This was the bus we took in Brazil.

This is my last sighting of the top seven wonders of the new world and it’s the reason I took this tour.

There was a lot of people, a lot of steps, and a lot of mist in clouds. But I got 10 seconds of clear, in order to take three good pictures of what we call the big Jesus.

It is quite an impressive sight to see that 110 ft high from afar on top of the mountain.

We took a tram up the mountain and then up a whole bunch of steps.

Little Jane and Big Jesus.

His feet (toes) were seen very clearly.

My best shot.

Copacabana Beach where the rich people stay in Rio.

Colombo Restaurant had a beautiful view and the best cappuccinos in town. Liz and Jane and Vickie all agreed they weren’t real cappuccinos but they were delicious and full of whipped cream. It would have been fun to be able to paddle board at the Copacabana beach.

Walked to Copacabana beach to a museum of art and history.

In the evening, Jane and I stopped by to watch a game that is half soccer and half volleyball. The guys can hit the ball with any part of their body except their hands. We were so excited when our side was winning we were screaming causing people to turn around and look at us like we were crazy.

Jane’s purchase that reminds us of the Favela we visited.

Here is my down payment on an Amazon river cruise with Christie for next May. I can’t believe it got finalized while I was actually already in Brazil, since this cruise is up the Amazon, quite close to here.
