Another fabulous breakfast with so many things you couldn’t possibly taste them all. This was the noodle bar.

I see this a lot. But the explanation usually is that a high-ranking king/governor/president is staying at the hotel and extra security is necessary. I guess that’s possible but sometimes I don’t believe it.

Twin temples of Plaosan with the remarkable detailed decorations combining both Hindu and Buddhist religious symbols and carvings. Two giant statues welcome you in the front of each main Temple and intricately carved dragon heads adorn the many windows.

School children were very excited to pose for a picture I was taking of them.

All the stones in the area are rubble from the earthquakes falling the temple buildings. This work site will just continue on untill all the rubble is put back in place. When they can’t find a particular piece they will make a replica. But as a UNESCO world heritage site it cannot be more than 40% new.

Kids are kids worldwide.

We could have taken our bus to the next Temple but it was fun in the horse-drawn carriage.

This is a 9th century Prambanan Temple complex, a lavish example of ancient architecture designated a UNESCO world heritage site.

Our tour guide told me he would take pictures of me to make me look like a movie star. Not quite. Oops dropped my glasses.

Love this!! He looks like a painting.

More Durian fruit. It’s popular in Southeast Asia, where it’s nicknamed “the king of fruits.” Durian is very high in nutrients, containing more than most other fruits. However, it also gets a bad rap due to its strong smell.

Lunch was in an out of the way place in the middle of a rice paddy. I am tiring of “local food”.

This was our last hotel in the island of Java. We did not partake in any of this stuff but we zipped through to see what we missed. It was beautiful.

I Thought there was more porn with the lady holding a man’s head at her waist; but it turns out it’s just a ball.

Our second internal domestic flight from Yogykarta to the island of Bali.

Bali does seem to be a little more exotic than Java. Bali is 90% Hindu.

A little giraffe porn.

We drove to Ubud in the center of Bali and stayed at a beautiful idyllic resort in the center of an actual rice paddy. It was so beautiful and this is where I got my third massage.

We had dinner at the Peliatan Royal Palace one of the oldest places in Ubud. Home to the last king of Ubud and in constructed in 1769. Again they required we wear sarongs and tops. The Royal descendants still live in this Palace and I believe 150 members live in these buildings.

We had dinner with the King’s son and were able to ask him anything. He legally could have a second wife but he chuckled and said his first wife would not be happy with him. He works in the banking business along with the rest of his family. The little girl helped translate and she was thrilled to say she was going to college in town and would soon graduate. We ate while sitting on a raised platform cross-legged. And the food came on raised platforms. Again local food.

We were invited to a celebration they performed for hundreds of years. Very Musical but it was all by their voices without instruments.

On the my phone in my photos I see this picture of Artemis 2 and think oh my gosh I guess everybody in the world can see this being shot toward the Moon.

Then embarrassingly I realized my sister had sent me the picture she took from her backyard in Florida — because, no, the entire world cannot see it.

Lucky to live in Florida.
