Toronto and Niagara Falls (Final)

This is the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada. It takes a minute to reach the top in an elevator; but the views are magnificent.

We got a little entertainment while elevating upwards in this tower.

Views from Skylon Tower.

Here is the boat we were on. All those little red things are people with rain slickers on.

Views from the boat we were packed into.

THIS is probably when I caught the cold I am just getting over!! Cram packed boat and packed elevators — no mask!

You can tell how windy it was! And the wind is caused by the falling water. Just crazy!

The power of that water was awesome. I don’t have a lot of pictures from this time because my phone got wet and started taking very weird and terrible photos.

Took the pic to show how wet we got, but I think the thing growing out of Jane’s head is hilarious!!

We went to both lookout places. This contraption takes people across the water to the other side. There is no zip-lining over this water.

This spot qualifies as a “6” white water rafting. I didn’t know there was a “6”! It is illegal for any vessel to traverse it.

Once the water turns the corner, it is considered a “5” and tourist boats are allowed.

One year some teenagers were jet-skiing in this water. They lived, but got fined something like $35,000.

This is the Canadian flag — a red maple leaf.

In the background you can see the stands for zip-lining, etc.

This is the flower clock, decorated with real flowers and plants. And here is a sample of the decors from other years. There was a wall of photos in the pumphouse behind the clock. THAT’S why it’s always good to have a Tour Guide who knows the secrets of the tourist spots.

Rumor has it the high schoolers used to come and steal the coins at the bottom of the wishing well, so they stocked the water with snapping turtles, which stopped the steal of the cash.

The city of Niagara Falls has a Fun Street, with everything a teenager could wish for. We had pizza here before our long ride back to Toronto.

These were the views from the top of the CN Tower. The tops of some buildings have gardens and trees; others have swimming pools.

The CN Tower has a glass floor at the top. It’s always scary to take the first step on to it. When I finally did it a teenager walked on and jumped and I screamed for him to stop. It was just a natural reaction. What you are looking at is my shoes and a street view, waaaaaay down below. You are also looking at the roof of the aquarium The smart owners realized thousands of people would be looking at their roof, so they painted sharks on it for advertisement.

Hope you enjoyed Toronto and Niagara Falls. I can now cross another site off my bucket list! Happy Travels! Linda Jeanne
