Thought this was an interesting light fixture in one of the beach front hotels.
These giant sandstone carvings were in situ — meaning these were found in the exact place they are standing today. The roofs were built to protect them from future weather erosion. Apparently the carvings and writing on these edifices very closely coincide with the Mayan Bible.
My artsy picture of the palm tree in front of a bifurcated elm in the background and the sunlight shining through!
A couple on our tour. So sweet.

These soccer players were in the restaurant we arrived at. I guess they are a big deal in Guatemala, as shown on the back of their bus!
Hotels were great on this trip. I had double windows and double balconies!!
I became known as the guru who could get their airport QR code for our fellow travelers, in order to get out of the country.
I helped three groups fill out their paperwork. …..I hope they all got out without a hitch.
Our last night before our Final Dinner. They were here for a wedding. How beautiful.
This was the motley crew of 37 people with Tour Guide, Oscar, down front.
My coffee mug and pashmina.
The mug came in extremely handy since two hotels did not have coffee service in the room. I drank a hot cup of coffee out of my new mug each morning!
I’m jaded enough to not be impressed since this trip was pretty much like the Mexico trip and it’s Chichen Itza and the ruins in Palenque. But I was with different friends, Connie and Susan, and a different group of travelers. Overall it was wonderful trip!
Leave a message if you’d like. I’m the only one who sees it.
Safe Travels!!
