I found this brochure in my room which explains what was marching by my first floor balcony the other day.

I was sitting out on my patio early in the morning when it began to pour. Ten minutes later it was dry, like nothing had ever happened.

Yet another temple where we had to wear a sarong. Again, it was hot as hell.

Tom seemed very proud of his new water bottle holder purchase. So much so he refused to take off the price tag.

We saw these little flower offerings to the gods everywhere. The Hindus either make or purchase small ones every single day and offered up to the gods.

This is a grandson of the king of this property. He used to work for the Hilton in the local town but 10 years ago when Gate1 Tour Company asked his grandfather to change some of his garden into a place their clients could feed their Gate1 clients, this young man made the decision to quit his lucrative job and come work for the family.

They are very serious about the fact if you have your period, to are to notify someone and not go into the temples. Even men who have an injury that may bleed are not allowed into the temples either.

It was a special holy day and there were a lot of people praying at the temple.

The temples have been restored but some of the rocks and stones are not original. So the originals are kept behind a wall and you can see they would fit into each other like Lego blocks.

Because it was a very special holy day for the Hindus there were many many people at these natural spring waters. A few of the Bulgarians actually stood in line and went into the cold water for their water blessing. The rest of us stayed outside and just had hold spring water sprinkled on us and rice stuck on our head and throats.

This is where the natural spring begins.

Beautiful girls mugging for the camera.

Too funny. Interested in her looks and putting on lip gloss.

Getting blessed with the holy Spring Water.

Eka passed out this candy about every day we were on the bus. The other two flavors were coffee and Ginger. But this one was good.

Lessons on the native plants in the area.

More local food. And the ladies that created it.

Tom and I hit the local grocery store called Coco something and I bought the local wine called Two Islands. It still wasn’t cheap.

Gate1 Tours truly did save the best for last. This hotel was right on the water and it was fabulous. I was on 4th floor and it had a huge outdoor cushion on the balcony. And a big bathtub which I used two nights in a row.

CLICK. You can see a hummingbird flitting around the flowers. Cool. Now that I think of it I don’t think it was a hummingbird because hummingbirds don’t plant themselves on leaves. They are always flying.

This wasn’t the hotel where I had swarming termites but apparently it’s a problem in all of Indonesia. Makes sense with the hot weather.

When we got to our rooms Tom came over to check out my view. I got a call from Eka asking if I knew where Tom was and of course I said he was in my room. She was calling because he left one of his two phones down in the lobby. Like I said she’s the best tour guide ever!!

I had a tough time convincing everybody that Tom and I just don’t just get two rooms as a cover and then he stays in my room all the time. Too funny.

Our last full day at this Resort. It was beautiful.

I took a Beach Walk on the Indian Ocean.
